The crew at The Dock Outfitters in Seaside Heights said anglers are finding decent-sized crabs early in the morning right off their dock, along with plenty of spot and croaker. Small fluke are also hanging around, although most have been too small to keep.

George at The Dock Outfitters said the local dock has been producing a lively mix of species, with spot, croakers, blowfish, kingfish, snapper blues, and even a few small fluke keeping anglers busy. The variety of fish around the docks is a promising sign as the season moves toward fall. George is optimistic about September, noting that many species arrived later than usual this year. If that trend continues, anglers could enjoy a longer stretch of productive fishing as summer species linger into the early fall.
