Over at the Twin Lights Marina sources said boats fishing out of the marina caught some nice fluke and a ton of shorts fishing the lower Shrewsbury and Navesink rivers on the top of the tide on Saturday. Boats fishing during the week caught mostly shorts in the lower bay, we were told.

August was a good month for boats fishing out of the Twin Lights Marina. Wayne told me anglers that fished returned to the dock with a nice mix of fluke sea bass, triggerfish, blues, bonito, and the like, although many anglers came down to their boats just to hang out due to poor weather forecasts. There is an old fisherman’s saying that goes, “The real fisherman show up after Labor Day,” and Wayne hopes that’s true this season.

In additon to marina regulars, transient visitors are welcome here and the marina accommodates nightly or weekly stays. Guests have access to running water, dock power and clean bathroom and shower facilities. Regular customers enjoy the summer season in water slip storage from April 1st to October 31st (reserved for boats 30 to 45ft). Rack storage is provided for boats 29-ft and under.
