Up Front Bait and Tackle

We got a call from Steve Haas at Up Front Bait and Tackle and the told me most of the better striped bass fishing has been in the ocean from the Hook down into the middle sections of the state. This past week saw some excellent fishing for mixed sized bass in the surf along the middle coast. Steve said the better blackfishing was still in the backwater areas but this past week saw some better fishing on local reefs and wrecks.

?Striped bass fishing continued, but seems to be thinning out in Raritan Bay and the surrounding waters since last Tuesday?s storm,? said Steve Haas over at Up Front Bait and Tackle. However with sand eels being seen late in the week we could have resurgence in the action this coming week. He added that between the mid week weather and the Thanksgiving holiday angler participation was down from previous weeks. ?With the tog fishing picking up it will be interesting to see if angler participation picks up in the first week of December if the striped bass fishing slows up,? he said.
