Over at Watch Hill Outfitters the report was very much the same as their last one, striper action has ended along the beaches, but there has been action in the salt ponds and back rivers where smaller populations of holdover fish congregate. These stripers range in size from little schoolies to the occasional fish that might push 20 pounds. Togging is still holding up quite well for those who still have a boat in the water, depth ranges seem to be set around 50 to 80 feet, and there are still some sea bass around locally as well. Heading out past block will put you in a better position for sea bass with some scup and tog on the list as well.

Over at Watch Hill Outfitters the surf was starting to slow way down, as the last straggler stripers seemed to be thinning out. There are guys still trying and a few being caught, but it seems to be coming to a fast close. Now is good time to check the salt pond for holdover bass as well. Tog action has been good for those with a boat still in the water. The fish have moved deeper, say 40 to 80 feet, but the bite has been strong with some big fish and the occasional nice sea bass in the mix as well. There have been some mackerel and shad along the beached as well.
