Capt. John Zema at Yankee Rose Fishing said a trip to the reef this week produced an excellent fluke bite, with the crew scoring big on quality fish. They’ve also been picking away at a solid mahi bite, adding some colorful and hard-fighting action to the mix.

Capt. John Zema at Yankee Rose Fishing said the crew spent August chasing bonito, bluefin, and mahi, with the bite producing a mixed bag of action. Some days proved more productive than others, but the variety of species kept anglers on the move and rods bending. As September arrives, the crew will continue looking for opportunities across the inshore and offshore grounds as the late-summer fishery transitions toward fall.
