Weakfish – Live Bait Rig

This rig is used to present live snappers, bunker and similar big baitfish to tiderunner weakfish. The thin drail helps get the bait down deep where the biggest weakfish often lurk while its slender profile allows a quiet and unobtusive presentation. Hook the baitfish through the bottom jaw and out one of the eye sockets or nostrils. When a pickup is felt, lower the rod tip to allow a hefty weak to fully inhale your offering before setting the hook. This rig works especially well in rips, inlets and areas with strong currents.
