When The Fisherman Magazine partnered with friends from Gray Fishtag Research back in the spring of 2019 to deploy high-tech MiniPAT tags in a pair of post-spawn Hudson River striped bass (named Freedom & Liberty), our team had no idea of what the next four months of tracking data would reveal. As our team from The Fisherman learned in 2022 after joining Gray Fishtag Research on a roosterfish tagging expedition off of Quepos in Costa Rica out of Marina Pez Vela, inshore anglers in Central America have been just as surprised at the inshore to offshore results as our North American anglers.
