FULL SEMINAR LINEUP FOR THIS WEEK AT EDISON, OAKS & BROOKDALE

It’s a busy week for New Jersey and Pennsylvania anglers, with three big shows planned for the President’s Day Weekend and a full slate of informative fishing seminars.  The Fisherman Magazine will be there with you at the New Jersey Boat Sale & Expo in Edison, the Philadelphia Fishing Show in Oaks, PA and Surf Day out at Brookdale Community College.

It all kicks off this Thursday, February 13 with the New Jersey Boat Sale & Expo at New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center at Raritan Center, 97 Sunfield Avenue in Edison.  The event runs daily through Sunday, February 17 with the boats, the vendors, and the seminars presented by The Fisherman Magazine.

On Thursday the 13th we kick if off with The Fisherman’s Jim Hutchinson, Jr. at 2 p.m. (Striped Bass), followed by Aaron Held of Octopus Yachts at 3:30 p.m. (Trolling Motors) and Chuck “Tyman” Many at 5 p.m. (Jumbo Striped Bass).  On Friday the 14th you’ve got The Fisherman’s Jenni Ackerman at 2 p.m. (Doormat Fluke) followed by Octopus technology pro Aaron Held at 3:30 p.m. (Modern Sonar Technology) and a bluefin tuna workshop at 5 p.m. with Capt. Mike Century of Anglers of Legends.

The weekend lineup is another great one, with Capt. Brett Taylor of Reel Reaction Charters kicking it off on Saturday the 15th at noon (Trolling Motor Tactics), with Staten Island sharpies Capt. Guy Buono of Krunch Sportfishing with Capt. Rob Crocitto at noon (Raritan Bay Bonanza), followed by Shore Catch’s Capt. Jim Freda at 1:30 p.m. (Jersey Shore Bluefin), the Gambler’s Capt. Chris Lido at 3 p.m. (Pro Tips for Fluke) and then the Zagorski boys, Joe and Gerry of NJFishing.com (Blackfish Strategy & Tactics) at 4 p.m.

Sunday in Edison is a special family day of seminars with Nick Honachefsky of the Saltwater Underground at 11 a.m. (Jersey Shore Exotics), The Fisherman’s Jenni Ackerman at noon (Doormat Fluke) and wrapping it up is 13-year-old togging sensation Pedro Ildefonso of KEPTI Fishing / Team Tsunami at 1p.m. (Fishing For Tautog).  Expect Pedro to have a few Tsunami items to give away!

Show hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is $15 for adults, kids 12 and under are admitted free.  Find the full lineup of speakers, and $2 off your admission price at jerseyboatexpo.com.

Then on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 14-16, The Fisherman will once again host more than 40 saltwater and freshwater seminars at the Philadelphia Fishing Show.  A 100% fishing show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA, there are three different rooms dedicated to fishing seminars with some of the top anglers in the region.  In fact, with more than 40 seminars slated for the weekend at the Philly Fishing Show there are simply too many to list here.

Show hours are noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for kids aged 6-12, and free for those ages 5 and under, with free parking at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center located at 100 Station Avenue in Oaks, PA.  For a list of exhibitors at phillyfishingshow.com.

Two of The Fisherman staffers will be out at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ this Saturday, February 15 for Surf Day.  Jenni Ackerman will be at our table with subscriptions and Danco pliers, when she’s not on stage at 12:15 p.m. talking Surf Fluke.  New England edition editor Dave Anderson is the seminar anchor this Saturday at 2:45 p.m. dissecting five favorite spots.

Surf Day seminars kick off with Long Island’s Bill Wetzel at 9:15 a.m. (The Five Big Lures), followed by The Fisherman’s New Jersey edition surf reporter Nick Honachefsky at 10:45 a.m. (Jersey Shore Surf Strategies), Matt Risser at noon (Introducing Kids to Surfcasting) and Frank Goncalves at 1:30 p.m. (Making Something Out of Nothing). Surf Day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Brookdale Community College at 765 Newman Springs Road in Lincroft; admission is $10, $5 for veterans and free for kids 14 and under.  For details go to facebook.com/surfday.
