ICE FISHING TOURNEY RESULTS ANNOUNCED

With the onset of spring comes the end of another great ice fishing season here In New England. After last year’s lack of safe ice, this year was a welcomed change for local hardwater enthusiasts. Also with the beginning of spring, Connecticut Outfitters, located in Wethersfield, CT, has announced the final results of its annual ice fishing tournament. For those not familiar with the tournament, it is state wide and runs the full ice season. It only costs $15 to enter and the grand prize is a $500 shopping spree at the shop. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for perch, bass, crappie and trout. Anglers may enter as many fish as they like and each entry gets you another shot at the $500.

The Grand Prize winner was Wayne d’Entremont who spent his money wisely buying himself a Daiwa Saltist 40 H Reel spooled with 55-pound Boat Braid, a Daiwa Procyon 3000 spooled with 30-pound Power Pro and a shopping basket full of tackle he’ll use this year to improve his game. Here are the final standings:

Bass:
1st – Al Sims – 21.50 inches
2nd – Jason Breault – 21.25 inches
3rd – Wayne d’Entremont – 21.25 inches

Trout:
1st – David Murawski – 24 inches
2nd – Phil Dorman – 20.5 inches
3rd – Phil Dorman – 17.75 inches

Perch:
1st – Michael Swirzewski – 13.25 inches
2nd – Alex Morrell – 13 inches
3rd – Brian Serda – 12.75 inches

Crappie:
1st – Bob Sprague – 16.25 inches
2nd – Orest Markiv – 15.5 inches
3rd Paul Dinwoodie – 15.5 inches
