With warmer weather approaching and the spring run just around the corner, the time draws near for a perennial favorite fishing event. The 2014 Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Classic, hosted by Captain Kayak, is scheduled to be held from Thursday, May 15th to Sunday, May 18th at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. The Fisherman Magazine and Hobie Kayaks will be premier sponsors for this popular tournament and the event itself exists as a qualifier for the Hobie Fishing Worlds IV Championship in Amsterdam (October 5th through the 11th). Heroes on the Water, Send a Kid Fishing, and the Robert K. Sweeney Education Center will all benefit from this four day charity event so come out and wet a line for a great cause.
