LARGEST SEA ROBIN CONTEST - The Fisherman

LARGEST SEA ROBIN CONTEST

Here’s your chance to stop complaining about sea robins and turn the birds into some loot and a free skiff rental. Jay and Gary at Silly Lily Fishing Station in East Moriches are holding a contest for the largest sea robin caught this week from one of the their rental skiffs on Moriches Bay. The contest kicked off on Friday, September 1 but you still have until Sunday, September 10 to enter your biggest bird.

Sea robins have been gaining considerably more respect for their eating qualities of late, as more and more anglers are becoming privy to the cleaning process and taking them home for the table. They have been especially abundant this season around Long Island, to the point of interfering with fluke fishing at times. The reality is they are abundant, give a good account of themselves on light tackle and they do make for some good eating.

If you would like to take a shot at the sea robin prize, all you have to do is call Silly Lily at 631-878-0247, reserve a skiff between now and Sunday, and you are entered in the contest. Bring the kids along or the whole family for that matter. You’re assured of plenty of action and you might even add some quality fluke to your catch while you hunt down that jumbo sea robin. Silly Lily Fishing Station is located at 99 Adelaide Avenue in East Moriches, NY 11940.
