2022 PESCADORA BILLFISH CHAMPIONSHIP OVERVIEW!
I just have to tell you all about last weekends LADIES ONLY Pescadora Billfish Championship which took place here at the Marina Pez Vela, February 17-19.
Now in its 4th year, 171 Lady Anglers made up 40 teams that came from a staggering 11 different countries! Over the 2 day event 323 Billfish were released including 305 Sailfish & 18 Marlin. 40 Dorado, 16 Yellowfin Tuna and a 50lb plus Wahoo were brought to the scales but many more Tuna & Dorado were caught over the weekend but not weighed.

A shout out to Team So-FISH-Ticated from Maryland who joined us aboard my boat GOOD DAY. These ladies epitomized what this tournament is all about, with a high energy, non stop fun factor for the weekend & a dedication & perseverance to sharpen their Offshore fishing skills. There were many firsts throughout the weekend but some caught their 1st Sailfish, 1st Dorado, 1st Tuna, whilst others tagged their 1st fish. Collectively the girls were super proud to go to the scales with a 29lb Dorado & take home some dollars for 2nd place billfish releases in the under 40’ boat división on day 2.
A huge thank you to Tournament Director Samantha Johns Mumford & everyone else who helped in organizing this one of a kind, life changing event for LADIES WHO LOVE TO FISH!
