SUPERSIZED
The engineering team at Sailfish took the successful concept of their popular 275 DC introduced a few seasons back and supersized it with the 325 DC. There’s a huge amount of onboard space for your favorite coastal activities, whether it’s beaching it, general cruising or gunkholing, pulling skiers and wakeboarders, taking the crew down to a dockside eatery, or bending the rods with the catch of the day, this big Sailfish does it all.
With a 31-1/2-foot length and a 10-foot beam, combined with their patented VDS (variable degree stepped) running bottom and ideal 3-to-1 length to beam ratio, this Georgia girl has minimal troubles taming a choppy bay or offshore sea when running to your favorite waterside playground. The design team took seating to the next level with the 325 DC’s cockpit plan. There’s a trio of double wide bench seats that pull out of the port, starboard and transom vertical bulkheads when needed, but store neatly and seamlessly out of the way when it’s time to get the cockpit ready for action. Add two smaller seats aft of the starboard galley setup and the portside storage pod, plus an extra-wide helm seat with flip-up bolsters and armrests and a twin passenger bench and you can definitely fit a dozen passengers for a beach or dockside party. Moving forward through the powder coated walk-through windshield, there is additional seating in the bow for another half-dozen crew members.

When it’s time to fish, the 325 DC is no slacker, with eight flush-mounted stainless steel rodholders, an insulated fishbox tucked under the aft cockpit sole, plus a recirculating livewell set in the port transom corner. There are two additional insulated boxes set under the forward bow seating with overboard drains, plus the standard powder coated hardtop offers two welcome rocket launchers per side and an area to mount optional Grand Slam outriggers. Other notable standard features on this dual console include a cockpit galley with Corian counter top, freshwater sink and trash can, with an optional galley package; standard cockpit bolsters; power assist hydraulic steering with tilt helm; enclosed head area with freshwater sink under the starboard console; enclosed galley area with freshwater sink, (optional) microwave and bunk under the port console; a ski locker set under a flush hatch between the consoles; dual ram electric trim tabs with indicator panel and auto retract, plus much more.
POWERFUL OPTIONS
The 325 DC is offered with a trio of power options, including twin Yamaha F300 four-stroke outboards, a pair of 300 Mercury Verados, or the new fire-breathin’ 350 Mercs. Recent factory tests with a duet of Merc 350s hitched to the transom showed the top end potential of this dual console, hitting a top speed of 57.4 mph at 6,200 rpm, which is really moving for a 32-footer. Dialing it back to a more realistic cruising range, the 325 DC will get 31.9 mph 20 gph for a net of 1.6 gph at 3,500 rpm; 37.3 mph at 25 gph for a net of 1.5 mpg at 4 grand; and 43.1 mph at 32.7 gph for a bottom line of 1.3 mpg at 4,500 revs. The lesson to be learned by these performance slash lines is that a judicious hand on the throttle will produce some very favorable fuel economy. Many other 32-foot center consoles and dual console sport boats that I have tested are lucky to get 1 mpg at these speeds. If you have to slow it down to bare minimum to beat it back home in rough weather, it’s nice to know that this hull and motor combination can dial it down to 17.7 mph at 3,000 rpm and still stay on plane. The 284-gallon fuel tank will take you a long way in between fill-ups.
The self-bailing cockpit on the 325 DC evacuates any spray or green water via a quartet of wide 2-inch drains set in the corners. Down below, a pair of 2,000-gph pumps aft and a 750-gph pump forward will help keep the bilge area bone dry. The standard plumbing array includes pull-out freshwater showers in the head and transom fed by a generous 21-gallon tank, plus raw water washdown. The anchor locker features a polished stainless steel through hull anchor plate and windlass. There is plenty of dry storage onboard and enough drink holders to keep your passengers hydrated from sunup to sundown. The 31-inch cockpit depth will keep your crew safe and secure, no matter what the day’s activities.
