Matt Broderick is one of surfcasting’s young guns who has quickly left his mark on the Northeast surf scene. The many hours he puts in at the water’s edge makes him a must listen. Bill “Doc” Muller’s college teaching skills show through in his seminars, books and hundreds of articles on surf and inshore fishing. He will be discussing his strategy for the fall surf run and how to connect with November’s mega school. Bill Wetzel is one of the most respected surf guides on the Striper Coast. His dedication and perseverance keeps him fishing and learning long after most casters have called it quits. Capt. Joe Wenegenofsky of Bloodline Charters is one of the East End’s top guns when it comes to the blackfish game. This is the perfect time to hone your tog skills with the season opener just weeks away. Capt. John Raguso has educated generations of anglers through hundreds of seminars and articles covering inshore and offshore fishing, boats and electronics. He will be sharing his insights into this season’s near-shore tuna run and telling how you can cash in on this exciting action.
You will also be able to pick the brains of experts like Ralph “The Tin Man” Votta of West End Tackle, LIBBA members who can fill you in on what you need to know for safe and responsible beach driving and permit information, Capt. Kayak on rigging out your kayak, Al Gags with tips on fishing soft plastics, Steve Petri of Bob’s Bait & Tackle on rod building, and Bill “Big Fischer Plugs” Fischer on fishing big plugs in the surf.
This is a great opportunity to stock up on your favorite lures and rigs, and any accessories you’ll need to get you through the fall action. You can also sharpen your surf and inshore fishing skills by sitting in on free seminars presented by the region’s best anglers, and get a first look at the latest tackle unveiled at this year’s ICAST Show in Orlando.
