Anglers living in New York City, the five boroughs and Nassau County that find transportation an issue when it comes to getting to the fishing grounds are in luck if they want to fish out of Captree, NY. From now through September 3, the LIRR is running a special package that will allow anglers to take a train to Babylon and then walk downstairs and board the S-47 air-conditioned Suffolk Bus that will head over to Captree State Park in time to board a half day open boat. The entire package is just $46 for adults and $29.50 for children ages 5 to 11. The package includes a discounted Off Peak, Round Trip Rail Ticket, two one-way Captree Fishing (S-47) bus Ttckets (please provide the bus coupon to the bus driver for the short ride to Captree State Park Boat Basin and for the return to Babylon Train Station) and a Captree Half Day Fishing Ticket.

So pack a lunch and enjoy a day of fishing while taking in the beautiful views. There’s no need to bring fishing gear, it’s all included in the package price. Trains will depart Penn Station at approximately 7:10, 9:06 and 11:05 a.m. on weekdays, and 7:10, 9:10, and 11:10 a.m. on weekends. The trains will depart Babylon Station at approximately 3, 4:35, and 6:39 p.m. weekdays, and 3:10, 5:28 and 6:58 p.m. on weekends.
