THE 2016 MSBA FISHING EXPO - The Fisherman

THE 2016 MSBA FISHING EXPO

The Massachusetts Striped Bass Association, one of the oldest fishing clubs in the United States, is not just about fishing. Over 500 members strong are working to give back to local charities. This year, on April 2nd and 3rd at the University Sports Complex on Route 53 in Hanover, MA, the MSBA will hold the largest saltwater fishing show in Massachusetts with over 50,000 square feet of fishing related vendors, boats, trucks, manufactures, dealers and much more. They will be running raffles throughout the show for the club’s many community projects like Homes For Our Troops, an organization that builds mortgage-free homes for severely injured veterans. Also Making Strides Boston, a walk to cure breast cancer that takes place along the Charles River every October, will benefit from funds raised at the show. Both of these charities have been adopted by Mass Striped Bass Club. The raffle tables will have dozens of prizes you can take a chance on including rods, reels, lures, kayaks, coolers, Raymarine electronics and much more.

The Massachusetts Striped Bass Association was founded 66 years ago in 1950. Over the years, they have taught many kids to fish in their Striper Swipers Junior Anglers program. This program matches young anglers, up to the age of 16, with adult club members. Today, many of those former junior anglers are fishing with their own children. MSBA is a mix of surf and boat anglers, both recreational and professional charter captains.

This year’s list of seminars includes some of the top authorities in their respective fields including DJ Muller of DJ Muller Surf Fishing, Joseph D’Agostino of JoeBaggs Bucktails, Capt. Rich Antonino of Black Rose Charters, Al Gags, Ryan Collins of MyFishingCapeCod, Daddy Mac Lures, Capt. Jason Colby of Little Sister Charters and many more still to be announced.

The vendor list, as always, includes a wide variety of fishing-related manufacturers, organizations, captains and more.
