THE FISHERMAN GOES A TWITTER

Do you Tweet & Twitter?

Well, The Fisherman Magazine does, and we’re hoping that with contributions from our readers and advertisers we can turn The Fisherman’s ‘Twitter’ feed into a valuable tool for making the latest, greatest local fishing information available for anglers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.

This week, The Fisherman Magazine has launched our new Twitter account at www.twitter.com/FishermanMag. By incorporating ‘how to’ and ‘where to’ fishing news and reports across various formats, from The Fisherman’s nearly five decades of local print and our Fisherman TV updates at YouTube, through The Fisherman’s Facebook page and now the new Twitter feed, our team is looking at every possible way to gather more insightful and up-to-date information to help you find, catch and land more fish throughout the year.

The ‘Social Media’ era has been all about advanced communication technology, with personal Facebook pages building entire communities of like-minded users, YouTube helping create viral video networks to actively spread news and information, and now Twitter allowing users to send and receive short, targeted blasts through the web or mobile devices. With more than 302 million active users, Twitter and its short, sweet 140-character ‘tweets’ is worth a look – yes, even if you only use it as another weapon in the fishing arsenal.

No longer ‘solely’ a print publication, The Fisherman Magazine now delivers its exclusive content across several different mediums, with bi-weekly email alerts, digital edition uploads, weekly regional video fishing forecasts, interactive Facebook posts and an interactive set of easy to use web tools for fishermen at TheFisherman.com. With the launch of the new Fisherman Mag Twitter feed, our entire staff, from New England down to the Mid-Atlantic region, hope to provide even more comprehensive and up-to-date fishing news and information than ever before.

Click here if you’re not receiving The Fisherman’s free email alerts. We send one alert every Monday morning for each of our three regional editions featuring access to the most comprehensive line-up of fishing reports anywhere. Then on Thursday, we’ll send you a second email bulletin that contains a video fishing forecast for your region, just in time for the weekend. It’s free and you can unsubscribe anytime you like.

Go to our Twitter feed to sign up for The Fisherman’s new Twitter feed; if you’re not a registered Twitter using, go ahead and sign up in the box where it says “New To Twitter?” It will be a great place to share techniques with fellow anglers, pick up tips, check out pics, and discover late-breaking news from our recreational fishing world.
