Pure Fishing is a pretty large fishing tackle group with a lot of outstanding brands and products in their big showroom of goodies. The Fisherman’s Jim Hutchinson had a chance to speak with rod expert Justin Poe about a couple of those brands while at ICAST 2021 this summer, and was surprised to see that the folks at Shakespeare are bringing “Ugly” back. That’s right, the Ugly Stik is back and the brand array is bigger than you’ve ever seen before. Some more good news from PENN as well in that the Carnage rod line has been expanded. “Carnage is now like 60 models,” Poe said, explaining that anglers will find more PENN Carnage rod selections in local shops this fall, covering every tactical need, inshore to offshore.
