The folks from PENN brought home the overall “Best in Show” award at ICAST ’24 in July for their new Fathom Electric reel, the first and only electric reel with an integrated battery. It was the sixth award for the Pure Fishing team at this summer’s New Product Showcase, and it’s already the talk of the tilefish town throughout the Northeast. The Fisherman’s Jim Hutchinson had a chance to use the PENN Fathom Electric earlier this summer, and was able to talk with PENN reel designer Ben Joyce while in Orlando, FL to talk up this award-winning reel. Look for it at your local offshore retailer in September.
