30 YEARS IN SPRINGFIELD - The Fisherman

30 YEARS IN SPRINGFIELD

The 30th annual Springfield Sportsmen’s Show runs Feb. 21 to 24 at the “Big E,” the Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, MA. The largest ‘pure’ hunting and fishing show in the Northeast is filled with hundreds of booths, exhibits, seminars and action areas.
Among the many features are: the Retrieving Pool where live waterdog demos perform all weekend, two Trout Ponds stocked daily for fishing, and a Casting Pool where spin, fly and bait casting experts will perform, teach and lecture.
Catch the ‘Salt Slammer’ array of notable saltwater experts with Capt. Bill Brown, Capt. Bruce Millar, Capt. Greg Debrule and the shoreline’s best, Dave Pickering.

Capt. Bill ‘Ironman’ Brown returns stronger than ever with even more tips and techniques and tales of big fish with his "Shoreline to the Canyon" and "Sharking" seminars.

Capt Bruce Millar is well known for his ability to get giant hog striped bass onboard. Attend his "Night Trolling Tactics for Trophy Bass".
Capt. Greg Debrule, well known for his fishing prowess along the east coast brings 40 years of success to the Salt Slammer! "Porgies and Sea Bass" and "Striped Bass Fishing at Night."

Long time surfcaster and friend of the show Dave Pickering will help saltwater fishermen with striper fishing on light tackle from all New England shores. Dave has great slide presentations "Striper Strategies from the Shore" and his new "Secrets of New England Carp Fishing" for the freshwater fishermen.

Lynn Smith of C-Devil Sportfishing and Lil’Devil Sportfishing returns with her fly fishing seminars. Guiding since 1993 she is a US Coast Guard licensed captain. She fishes, guides and instructs fly-casting.

Marla Blair will bring all levels of fly fishing expertise, from the very basics of casting to fishing the fly line hot spots. She’ll cover Alaskan silver salmon on the fly to Patagonia native browns and rainbows.

Also at the show this year see the Pioneer Boat and Surf seminar "Intro to Surf Fishing": Capt. Ed Noble "Fishing for Stripers with Wire Line", "Lake Ontario Fishing" with Capt. Chad Gehrig and "New Way to Carp Fish" with Michael McGrath II.
