A DOUBLE-SHOT OF SHOWS - The Fisherman

A DOUBLE-SHOT OF SHOWS

That’s right, fishing and boating show season is just about over. It has been quite the run here in New England this winter with more than 10 events under our belt over the last three months.

The Northeast Hunting & Fishing Show is first up as the doors open in Hartford, CT this Friday, March 30, at noon and concludes Sunday night at 5:00 pm. This year’s show highlights include an impressive 4,000-gallon Hog Traugh Fish Tank, the site for daily demonstrations of fishing and casting techniques. There will also be a lengthy list of experts speaking or hosting booths including Alberto Knie (a/k/a “Crazy Alberto”) – a world-class extreme trophy game fish hunter and writer/fishing product designer who specializes in the art of Trophy Fishing and Conservation; whitetail hunters Dean and Shelli Vanier, Gerry Rightmyer & Steve Schicker, hosts of TV’s “Forever Wild Outdoors Adrenaline Adventure”; international bow hunter Del DelMastro; Professional Angler and Bassmaster Mike DelVisco; Ralph Wilkins of National Geographic Channel’s “Wicked Tuna”; diving fisherman Mike Laptew; lure designer Al Gag; and Fishing Captains Brian Bacon, Greg Dubrule, TJ Karbowski, John Planeta, Mike Roy, Mel True, and Dave Brandt.

The second show of the coming weekend is the MSBA Annual Sport Fishing Expo in Hanover, MA, on April 1 – 2. Covering 80,000 square feet of show space, the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association has rounded up some of the best vendors, representatives, captains and more in the fishing industry. Check out new tackle, talk to expert anglers, win some great door prizes and check out the free seminars every hour throughout both days. For complete details, check out the calendar of events page.
