
The 43rd Annual Old Time Barnegat Bay Decoy & Gunning Show will be held on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 at Tip Seaman County Park and The Tuckerton Seaport.
Decoy demonstrators will be on site both days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plus, you can paint your own flattie decoy and compete in folk art themed games! Be sure to visit the Decoy Tent to watch the judging of some of the over 50 contests held throughout the weekend and learn more about what makes this folk art so special. The first place winner for the New Jersey Duck Calling Championships will receive $350 and the winner represents the Garden State at Stuttgart, AR for the National Duck Calling Championship.
At the Community Center building, art and photo contest will be held on Saturday with entries on display all weekend. On the site of this year’s decoy and gunning show you’ll also find a Decorative Fish Contest and Working Fish Decoy Contest which will be held on Saturday at noon and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. respectively. This year the show will be documentaries and presentations all weekend at the Presentation Tent. At the Seaport, enjoy free admission and guided creek tours all weekend. For music lovers, the Jackson Pines, Basement Musicians Guild and Gary Struncius & Debbie Lawton will also be appearing live.
Exhibitors displaying and selling items such as decorative and working decoys, wildlife art and photos, crafts, outdoor clothing, hunting and fishing supplies, antiques, hunting guide services and more.
Admission is free, and the show runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both Tip Seaman County Park and The Tuckerton Seaport located along Pohatcong Creek on Route 9 in Tuckerton. Free shuttle buses will run from parking areas at Pinelands Regional High School and Freedom Fields County Park.
