Reminder: Sudbury & Foss Reservoirs Close November 30

As the autumn fishing season winds down, local anglers are reminded that shoreline fishing at the Sudbury and Foss reservoirs in Massachusetts will close for the season on November 30, 2026. Both waterbodies operate under strict shore fishing only rules, meaning no boats, kayaks, or float tubes of any kind are allowed on these reservoirs. Even wading is prohibited and anglers must remain on land for the entirety of their outings.

Fishing at the Sudbury Reservoir is permitted everywhere along the shoreline except for the shorelines closest to the dam and the MWRA facilities, which remain off-limits year round. Similarly, shoreline fishing is allowed along the Foss Reservoir everywhere except for the section closest to the dam and gatehouse. Anglers visiting Foss Reservoir can utilize neighborhood parking, though visitors are asked to remain respectful of local residents.

Ice cover may also impact these dates if conditions shift prior to the end of November. Anglers heading out for these final weeks of the season are encouraged to review all posted signage and boundaries before casting a line.
