One-hundred-fifty anglers participated in the 8th-Annual Pt. Lookout Shark & Tuna tournament Benefiting the Waterfront Warriors this weekend. Due to the high east winds on Saturday, the fish day took place on Sunday, June 13, with the team onboard Lady Maureen, a 42 Wesmac, taking top honors with a 456-pound thresher weighed in at Ted’s Fishing Station. Second place went to the team on Sea Moose II with a 295-pound thresher and third place went to Cannonball II with a 278-pound thresher. Team Hooking On won the mako category with a 181-pounder.
In total, 12 qualifying sharks were weighed-in by the 33 teams with 11 threshers and one mako, ranging in weight from 181 to 456 pounds. The money raised by the tournament will once again be donated to Long Beach-based Waterfront Warriors, which is an organization dedicated to supporting our wounded veterans.
