A new day. A new way…

A New Day A New Way MikeOver the last few weeks, life as we know it has changed for everyone. The global COVID-19 pandemic has placed challenges on the lifestyles of the entire fishing community, including, readers, advertisers, our vendors and our staff. First and foremost, we wish you, our Fisherman family, safety and good health. Better days are most definitely ahead for all of us.

Efforts to control the spread of coronavirus through non-essential business closures, quarantines and school closures, especially here in the Northeast, have placed us in lockdown mode. As a result, our weekly delivery system is especially vulnerable to a major slowdown in production and delivery of the print magazine. As a result, weekly newsprint issues will cease for the foreseeable future, and be replaced with an enhanced digital magazine available to subscribers online at TheFisherman.com. We know how important on time delivery is to our readers and under the current conditions, the digital edition will assure that your magazine is delivered on time. This change only affects the newsprint weekly issues – there is no change to the monthly, glossy magazine and it will continue to be printed and mailed to you as always.

Again, here’s the new subscription plan for now. You will continue to receive 12 monthly, glossy, full feature print magazine issues. The weekly newsprint issues will be available in their digital magazine format every Monday for subscribers to access on thefisherman.com.

Accessing your digital edition online is easy. Just go to www.thefisherman.com. Click on “Magazine” at the top of the screen. Then click on the magazine edition you’d like to read. If you already have an online account which is Free to all print magazine subscribers, just click the red button under the image of the magazine cover (Already a subscriber Login in here), and the digital magazine will begin to load. Or, if you subscribe but have not set up an online account, click the blue button (Already a subscriber & need to create a login). Follow the direction from there and you’ll be set up to access the digital edition. We’re here to help you get set up online. For help call 866-347-4836 or email us at info@thefisherman.com

We will be aggressively promoting the online digital, weekly magazine to optimize exposure for our local business advertisers and ask that you please support them by buying all of your fishing and marine gear from local businesses. Contact charter and party boat captains regarding getting out fishing. Their contact information is on thefisherman.com Please support the for-hire sector in every way you can. Also remember your marine services, boat dealers and marinas. Oddly enough, this may be the most attractive time ever to consider a new boat purchase.

Lastly, as many of you have already discovered, we recently rolled out The Fisherman TV on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV which to deliver our best fishing videos to your TV. We encourage you to check it out while at home.

I thank you for your past support and ask for your support going forward as we adapt to the many challenges facing all of us. Good fishing and stay well everyone.
