Ocean City Fishing Club’s Blue Team won championship honors in the Association of Surf Angling Club’s (ASAC) 2022 tournament season for the second consecutive year. Ocean City’s Blue Team amassed 124 points over nine fishing tournaments that started in May and ended in October.
Blue Team members included (photo left to right) Team Captain Tyler Daley, Augie Conte III, Ed Parkinson, Bob Dever, Drew Furst, and Paul Viola. Tyler Daley also took first place for scoring the most fish points. The closest competing team was Merchantville Team #1 with 94 points.
OCFC’s Gold Team came in third with 84 points. Points are awarded based on the number, size and type of qualifying fish caught. The total number of teams competing in any one the tournaments this year ranged from 17 to 36.
