Be On The Lookout For Tagged Salmon In Connecticut

tag

A few weeks back the Shetucket River from Scotland Dam down to Occum Dam and the Naugatuck River Trout Management Area and Naugatuck River (Lower) Trophy Trout Area were stocked with Atlantic salmon. The salmon released into these flowages have been tagged with an orange external anchor tag emblazoned with a unique four-digit number. Anyone catching a tagged salmon in the Shetucket River or Naugatuck River is asked to report the following information to the Connecticut Fisheries Division: tag number, date of catch, specific location of the catch (GPS coordinates preferred), and whether the salmon was harvested or released. Do Not Remove The Tag. Reports can be made using one of the following methods: (1) phone 203-500-2513, (2) e-mail matthew.devine@ct.gov, (3) online link on Connecticut Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Trout and Salmon Stocking web page.
