Black Hall Outfitters To Hold 10th Annual Togtober Tournament October 19-22 - The Fisherman

Black Hall Outfitters To Hold 10th Annual Togtober Tournament October 19-22

It’s that time of year again, yes, that’s right, it’s TOGTOBER and Black Hall Outfitters will be commemorating their 10th annual Togtober Tournament with a special donation to Save The Sound. That’s right, 10% of all of the proceeds from the tournament and raffle will be donated to this fantastic charity that is devoted to preserving the fisheries and water quality of Long Island Sound. Save the Sound leads environmental action by fighting climate change, saving endangered lands, protecting the Sound and its rivers, and working with nature to restore fragile ecosystems. They work in many ways, from legislative advocacy and legal action to engineering, environmental monitoring, and hands-on volunteer efforts. They restore and protect all that impacts the Long Island Sound region’s environment, from rivers and shorelines to wetlands and forests, from the air we breathe to the waters of the Sound itself. For over 50 years they have been ensuring people and wildlife can enjoy the healthy, clean, and thriving environment they deserve—today and for generations to come!

The four day event will begin on October 19th and run through October 22nd at 3 p.m. The heaviest blackfish landed in that timeframe will win a cash prize (exact amount to be determined by the number of entrants) and the runner up will win a top-end rod and reel combo. Additionally, there are four calcuttas: blackfish, sea bass, porgy and – new for 2023 – false albacore! Each Calcutta will be won by the heaviest in the designated category and, if the blackfish winner also happens to be the tournament winner, the angler will net both prizes. The Calcutta winners will take home a cash prize based on the number of sign-ups for that Calcutta.

This is a 4 day open tournament that costs $50 per angler (before taxes/fees). Each Calcutta costs an additional $20 (before taxes/fees). The first 50 sign-ups will receive a BHO captain’s bag full of awesome gifts courtesy of the event sponsors! Following the conclusion of the tournament at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 22nd, Black Hall Outfitters have a barbeque and raffle for all tournament anglers, with beer provided by Coastline Brewing Company and cigars provided by Bongo Ron’s Cigar Lounge!

Additional guests that would like to attend the after party will need to be signed up prior to the start of the tournament for an additional $10 per guest (before taxes/fees). This only applies for additional guests; all anglers are automatically admitted to the after party.  All fish must be weighed in at their Westbrook location, no exceptions.

Head over to www.blackhalloutfitters.com to get all the details and sign up. This truly is a ‘can’t miss event’, with four days of competition, many ways to win, a free barbecue, a huge raffle and a sizeable donation to Save The Sound. Why would you allow yourself to miss out?
