The Fisherman Magazine is inviting readers to share their stories for a new regular column titled One Fish, a feature dedicated to the single most memorable fish of an angler’s life. Whether it was a personal best, a first fish, a hard-earned catch under tough conditions, or simply a moment that still stands out years later, One Fish is about the story behind that special catch.
We are looking for reader-submitted stories of roughly 750 words, accompanied by one photo of the fish or the moment. The focus isn’t on limits or numbers, but on what made that one fish unforgettable. Style can range from straightforward and factual to reflective and personal—what matters most is the experience and why it still resonates.
Readers can get a feel for the direction of the column by checking out the One Fish feature appearing in this issue of The Fisherman Magazine. Submissions should be original and previously unpublished. Selected entries will be featured in an upcoming issue, giving everyday anglers a chance to see their story in print.
