Captain Bills Landing In Point To Host Blackfish Tournament Nov. 21

On November 16, New Jersey anglers will be back in the blackfish for 2020 as the state regulations open up for a five fish bag limit at the minimum size of 15 inches.  To help celebrate the official start of the fall tautog fishery, Captain Bill’s Landing will once again hold its annual fall blackfish tournament on November 21.

Entry fee is $100 per boat up to four anglers, $25 for each additional angler up to eight onboard (including captain and mate).  Captains meeting will be held at Captain Bills Landing at 49 Inlet Drive in Point Pleasant on November 20 at 6:30 p.m. The contest weather date is November 22.

An estimated $5,000 in prize money will be awarded based on 30 boat entrants with prizes for the best six-fish bag; there are also $50 calcuttas for six-fish bag and biggest fish of the tournament.  All participants will also get .10 cents off per gallon of fuel and 10% off entire shop at the Captains meeting and on tournament day for those looking to gear up.
