COSTA DEL MAR FANTAIL AND TAG SUNGLASSES

Costa’s Fantail and Tag polarized performance sunglasses are just what the doctor ordered for protecting your eyes from the potentially harmful effects of the sun when dedicating long days to bending rods out on the water.

TAG…YOU’RE IT
Just in time for those anglers catching a heavy dose of “spring fever” and getting rid of the winder doldrums by spending lots of time out on the water, Costa recently announced that its latest style, Tag, is now available at authorized retail outlets. The Tag series of sunglasses feature 360-degree co-molded technology, with built-in side shields and durable integral hinges for a “forget-they’re-on” fit. These frames are perfect for smaller faces and walk the line between sport and style by featuring the best of both.

Tag comes in tortoise, black or silver frame colors, in the full array of Costa’s patented 580 lenses, including the new prescription (Rx) option. The 580 lens blocks yellow light at the 580 nanometer on the light spectrum, creating unparalleled visual clarity, the highest levels of polarization efficiency and razor sharp color enhancement. Like all Costa sunglasses, Tag is hand assembled in Florida with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects and can be customized with the frame and lens color of choice.

The Tag style derives its name in honor of the many fish-tagging programs happening now in the name of conservation. Costa is an active supporter of initiatives like Project Permit and the Billfish Foundation’s Tag & Release efforts, which seek to gather scientific data regarding fish stocks and health. This data helps influence sustainable fishing policy and regulations and a portion of Costa’s revenue each year goes to support these and other marine conservation programs.

Costa’s Tag style retails from $149 to $249, depending on your lens choice. Prescription (Rx) sunglasses prices will vary.

FANTAIL
Unique to Costa, their new Fantail lineup features what’s known as “360-degree co-molded technology,” specifically a no-slip Hydrolite lining along the entire interior of the frame to help keep the sunglasses comfortably in place all day. Fantail has a hard, rectangular shape frame, with a medium to large fit. The nylon construction provides maximum durability and comfort fit, able to withstand harsh outdoor conditions in the saltwater environment.

Available in tortoise or black frame colors, consumers can choose the lens option to best suit their outdoor lifestyle. Costa’s 580 lenses, dubbed by some industry insiders as the clearest lenses on the planet, are now available in either glass or polycarbonate. Glass is still the most optically clear and scratch resistant, while polycarbonate offers a lightweight, impact resistant alternative. Lens colors include gray, copper, amber for Costa 580P (polycarbonate), with the same colors, plus blue, green and silver mirror options in 580G (glass). Fantail sunglasses retail anywhere from $149 to $249, depending on your customized lens selection.
