Few anglers have caught more giant-sized big game fish than Captain Ron Hamlin. This IGFA Hall of Fame charter boat captain has released more than 27,000 billfish in his career, in addition to innovating live bait pitch techniques and the use of circle hooks, while helping to revolutionize the sport. These new performance sunglasses designed by Costa Del Mar in his honor may not make you the world class angler that Capt. Ron is, but they can let you see what he sees through these glare taming, see-through-the-water shades.
In his honor, Costa’s new Hamlin style sunglasses feature durable co-injected nylon molded frames, sturdy integral hinges and no-slip Hydrolite nose pads and temple tips. The extra-large fit features a wrap shape to protect against incoming glare. Frame colors include tortoise, matte black, blackout, white and Realtree Xtra Camo, which will be available in the late spring.
Hamlin is available in Costa’s patented 580 lens technology, which blocks yellow light from entering the eye, creating razor sharp color enhancement and achieves the highest polarization level possible. The lenses eliminate reflective glare and protect against harmful UV rays. Offered in either 580G (glass) or 580P (plastic), lens colors include gray, amber, copper, blue mirror, green mirror and silver mirror. It’s also available in Costa’s specialty sunrise lens color, ideal for low light situations, such as fishing or hunting at dusk or dawn.
Costa sunglasses are custom built and hand assembled in Daytona Beach, FL and come with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects. Hamlin is also available in Costa’s Rx sun lenses, which offer a one-year warranty. The Hamlin lineup of Costa shades start at $169 and are available at authorized Costa outlets and online.
