Five For Fighting, It’s Gloves Off For A Busy Fluking Weekend 7/19

Saturday, July 19 is a big day for tournament anglers at the Jersey Shore, with five different fluke tournaments based out of ports from Staten Island to LBI.

Going from north to south, the Staten Island Tuna Club will host their annual Richie Addeo Fluke Tournament on Saturday, July 19.  You can get tournament details and registration info by calling Eric Bonanno at 917-282-8271 or by visiting situnaclub.com.  With the Raritan Bay fluke bite entering its prime, you can piggyback your tournament fluke options that day by also getting into the Raritan Bay Anglers Club 35th Annual Fluke Tournament.  Captains meeting is Thursday, July 17.  Contact Don Beyer for more info at 908-494-0980 or visit raritanbayanglersfishingclub.com.

Another twin billing in the Manasquan area on Saturday, July 19 includes both the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers’ Fluke Fever Tournament and the 30th Annual Point Pleasant Elks Fluke Tournament.  You may have to split your crew apart for the captains meetings, one at JCSA headquarters at 385 Herbertsville Road in Brick, the other at the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge at 820 Arnold Avenue.   For JCSA details, contact Rick Carroll at 732-773-3409 or Frank Ross at 732-856-2576, or visit jcsa.org. For the Point Pleasant Elks event, call 732-899-7638 or visit pointpleasantelks.org/fluke.

Finally on Saturday, July 19 you’ve got the VFW 3729 Fluke-A-Thon based out of Long Beach Island.  Presented by the VFW 3729, the captains meeting will be held on Friday, July 18 from 5-9 p.m. at 11W Winifred Street (79th Street) in Beach Haven.  Proceeds support veteran’s groups.  Call 267-228-0640 or visit vfwpost3729lbi.org.
