It’s Tournament Time In The Little Egg, Tuckerton Region

Some of the very best fluking of the season in the Little Egg Harbor, Great Bay waters can be found during the month of June. First up this month is the 6th Annual Raging Raymond Fluke Tournament to benefit the Raging Raymond Foundation in supporting genetic disorders and communities.

The tournament runs June 7th and 8th with prizes awarded to the two heaviest fluke per team in first, second and third place.  Entry is $100 (four anglers) and the captains meeting will be held on June 6 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 493 at 420 Radio Road in Little Egg Harbor.

The following weekend, grab your friends, saddle up that boat and get ready to round-up some flounder at Cape Horn Marina on the Great Bay on Saturday, June 14.  Organizers of the first annual Flounder Round-up are promising an inaugural event filled with competition, a chance to win awesome prizes, a weigh-in BBQ and of course, plenty of flounder!

An exclusive bay fishing tournament, the boundaries of the event are back waters between Atlantic City and Oyster Creek in Waretown. Entry is $125 a boat for four anglers, with $50 for each additional angler.  The single biggest fish payout is 70% to first place, 20% to second and 10% to third.  Calcuttas will also be available at the captain’s meeting on Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m.

It’s “lines in” at 5 a.m. with weigh-in back at Cape Horn Marina Bait & Tackle Shop from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Register in-person at the marina located down Seven Bridges Road (570 Great Bay Boulevard) in Little Egg Harbor Township.  For traveling anglers, Cape Horn Marina will have boat slips available for $50 for the weekend (Friday-Sunday).
