JCSA Kicks Off Month Long Fluke Tournament On July 30

Based on the Jersey Shore tournament season thus far, it would appear that the new “slot” limit on Jersey Shore fluke – two fish from 17 to 17.99 inches, one fish at 18 inches for a three-fish total bag – may be having an impact on participation due to the one jumbo fish per angler limit.  So what if you had 30 days and 30 bag limits?

On July 30, the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers (JCSA) will kick off the first ever month-long Flukin’ Fever to run through August 30.  The cost for entry is $125 per boat, with a maximum of six anglers.  Cash payouts of 40% to first place, 20% to second and 10% to third based on the number of entries, with a $250 cash prize to the JCSA member weighing the largest fluke of the contest.

There is also a single-day JCSA fluke tournament slated for Saturday, July 30 with $6,000 in guaranteed payout.  The 18th Annual JCSA Fluke Tournament will be held in conjunction with the month long Flukin’ Fever with all weigh-ins that day from each contest to be conducted from 3 to 5 p.m. at Captain Bill’s Landing in Point Pleasant.  The cost to enter the 18th Annual JCSA Fluke Tournament is the same, $125 per boat, with a maximum of six anglers.

For those in the month long Flukin’ Fever event, eligible fluke can be weighed in at any certified scale with certified weigh slips to accompany submission with a picture of the fish on the scale.

So whether you’re looking for a one-day fluke tournament or a month long quest for that personal best doormat, head out to JCSA headquarters at 385 Herbertsville Road in Brick, NJ on Friday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. for the official joint captains meeting.  Enter one, or enter both, fish hard either way.  For details contact Rick Carroll at 732-773-3409 or Joey Kayhart at 862-432-6814.  Go to jcsa.org for details.
