Rhode Island’s top toggers are heading to Jim’s Dock this weekend, October 3 and 4, to duke it out for the biggest blackfish, chow down on some great food, and to support a worthy cause.
The weekend kicks off Friday, October 2, with a mandatory 6 p.m. Captains Meeting at Jim’s Dock. Fishing begins Saturday morning, running from sunrise to sunset with the scales closing at 4 p.m. Final lines-out is set for noon on Sunday, followed by a second weigh-in period that runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. And that’s when the run begins, after the final weigh-in, the awards banquet, trophy ceremony, and high-stakes raffle take center stage.
Adult entry is $100 for fishing and the banquet, or $50 for the banquet only. Junior anglers under 14 can join for $25 for fishing with food included, or $10 for banquet access only with soft drinks provided. Official limited-edition event T-shirts ($25) and hoodies ($50) will be sold on location, and 100% of all raffle proceeds go directly to benefit the Jonnycake Center.
