On Saturday, May 14th, the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association (DVSA) will host their 40th Annual Karl J. Boehret Surf Fishing Tournament in Sea Isle City, NJ. This event will be a team and individual tournament based on Association of Surf Angling Club (ASAC) tournament rules.
A team of six costs $60 while individual angler registration is $10. Register at the Sea Isle City Community Lodge on the day of the tournament between 5:30 a.m. and the 7 a.m. start of the first fishing position. The second fishing position will run from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with lunch and awards presentation at 1 p.m. back at the lodge.
There will be both team and individual awards for top three finishers, as well as the Al Quartucci Memorial Plaque for the most fish, team or individual in youth division, largest and most fish plaques for women, and the Mayors Trophy for largest fish in the tournament. Door prizes include a custom rod, hand tied rigs and teasers from JK Rods & Rigs, custom plugs from Striper Bites, and more.
Beach buggy permits have been waived for the tournament. Only vehicles with four-wheel drive are permitted on the beach. DVSA asks that you please try to limit your vehicles to two buggies per team, and the they will provide transportation for those teams or individuals participating in the tournament who do not have access to a four-wheel drive vehicle (notify volunteers at the time of registration).
