Legendary Montauk Captain Passes Away

On July 9th, well-known Montauk captain Bob Storc of Glenn Cove passed away at the age of 85. Capt. Bob was a Montauk fishing staple since the mid-80s and ran his 27-foot Fortier also known as the Caprice right up until his passing. He focused on catching large striped bass in the Montauk rips during key moon phases and built quite the reputation in doing so. He had multiple 60-plus pound stripers under his belt and won several different fishing tournaments throughout his years at Gone Fishing Marina. Aside from fishing, Bob was an avid deer hunter since the late 60s, was a member of the Matinecock Rod and Gun Club, enjoyed travel and served the community as a State Farm Agent for over 60 years. Capt. Bob’s final resting place is Locust Valley Cemetery in Locust Valley, NY.
