The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council will hold its next meeting August 11-13 at The Westin Philadelphia, with both in-person attendance and webinar participation available to the public.
Among the major agenda items are the adoption of 2027-2028 specifications for the surfclam and ocean quahog fisheries, 2027-2029 butterfish specifications, and reviews of 2027 management measures for summer flounder, scup, black sea bass, bluefish and chub mackerel. Council members will also hear updates on monkfish and skate management, Northeast Fisheries Science Center survey efforts, and NOAA Fisheries’ Atlantic Large Whale Take Reduction Plan. Final action is also scheduled on the Scup Winter I Framework.
