MUSTAD BIG EYE BUCKTAIL

Check out Mustad’s Big Eye bucktail in action with Northeast stripers and fluke!

There is a reason why survival kits often include a bucktail jig: they appeal to a wide variety of fish and are a simple and effective method of putting fish in the box. Mustad’s new Big Eye bucktail jigs are built on 2X Mustad jig hooks molded into a hydrodynamic head and feature two line ties for vertical or casting applications. With these two line tie options you can easily alternate presentations without having to change lures; simply change the attachment location. The jigs also feature oversized 3D eyes, hand-tied premium dyed deer hair and crystal flash to provide maximum attraction to gamefish of all types. There’s also a wire bait keeper that securely holds any natural or artificial trailers in place.

Whether you’re 3-waying a rip for striped bass, drifting the inshore bumps and wrecks for sea bass and fluke, or pitching lures around offshore FAD’s for finicky pelagics, there is a Big Eye bucktail for the job! The jigs are available in eight of the most popular and productive color patterns (black, black/purple, black/silver, glow/white, pink, red/white, chartreuse/white and white) and 12 different weights from 1/8 to 8 ounces to target fish of any size, species and location. The MSRP ranges from $3.49 to $10.49 depending on size

Below, join Mustad’s Sam Root along with Long Island Captains John Paduano and Pete Jakits, as they put Mustad’s new Big Eye Bucktail to the test on striped bass and fluke in an exclusive video produced by The Fisherman’s Mike Caruso. .
