The Point Pleasant Fishing Club is looking for new members for the 2024 season. “We are the only club in the USA that owns and operates their own boat,” said club rep Joe Punk, describing the 42-foot twin-screw, diesel-powered Ideal launched in 1989 upon which members fish three days a week (weather permitting) from early May until late November.
“The boat fishes primarily for fluke, sea bass, and stripers in season, and usually take one to two trips trolling for tuna,” Punk added.
The club also takes veterans groups fishing three times a year, while organizing club trips on local charter boats and trips to Hyannis, MA. There is a $25 application fee that is put towards the membership fee if you join the club. If interested in learning more, contact Joe Punk at 732-503-1317.
