One of the most impressive mid-sized, all-around family sportfishers at the February 2026 Miami Boat Show was Pursuit’s DC 286 dual console. This Florida-built platform checks all the boxes for families who want to do a little bit of everything on the water—from serious fishing to sandbar hopping—without sacrificing comfort or performance.
Growing Fleet
Pursuit’s dual console lineup has expanded to six models, starting with the DC 246 and moving up through the DC 266, DC 286, DC 306, DC 326 and flagship DC 365. Sitting right in the middle, the DC 286 hits a sweet spot. It’s large enough to comfortably run 30 to 40 miles offshore with the tuna fleet, yet still nimble enough to slide up to a sandbar or dock for a relaxed day with family and friends.
During the Miami debut, I caught up with Molly Ditzler, Vice President of Engineering at Pursuit Boats. She summed it up well: the DC 286 is designed for boaters who want true versatility without compromise—offshore confidence, all-day comfort and the refinement expected from the brand, all in a manageable size.
With port and starboard swim platform extensions, the boat measures 30 feet overall with a 9-foot, 6-inch beam. The layout feels balanced and open, giving it the flexibility to shift between fishing, cruising and entertaining. The hull features a 21-degree aft deadrise tapering to a deep-vee entry, providing a smooth, predictable ride in varying conditions—exactly what you want when mixing inshore and offshore missions.

The DC 286’s layout is where it really shines. Boarding is easy thanks to access doors at both the port transom corner and starboard cockpit. A smart, flat walkway in the transom well connects both swim platforms, improving safety and flow when moving around the stern.
Fishing features are well thought out. The aft cockpit includes a 36-gallon insulated fishbox centered in the transom cap and a 22-gallon recirculating livewell in the starboard corner. Seating is equally versatile, with a doublewide fold-down bench at centerline and an optional portside bench that pairs with an aft table for entertaining.
Rod storage is abundant, with flush-mount holders in each gunwale, four vertical holders in the transom cap, and additional holders integrated into the hardtop supports. For anglers needing more, an optional six-rod rocket launcher is available. A large hatch in the cockpit sole provides access to pumps and wiring in the bilge.
At the helm, the seating arrangement is both comfortable and functional. The captain’s chair features folding armrests, a flip-up bolster and full adjustability. Additional seating includes an aft-facing jump seat to starboard and a wide portside bench with a built-in cooler below. There’s also a companion seat forward with grab rails and storage, along with a tackle center beneath the port seating that can be upgraded to a 12-volt refrigerator.
Both helm and passenger areas sit beneath a full hardtop with an integrated windshield system, offering protection without sacrificing visibility or airflow. Storage is plentiful throughout, including compartments in the consoles.
Inside the port console is a fully equipped head with a 9-gallon holding tank, sink, vanity and storage, making this a true all-day boat. Forward, the bow features twin cushioned loungers with storage below and access to the anchor locker through a through-stem chute. Additional storage compartments are built into the deck along the centerline.
Electronics come standard with a Garmin GPSMAP 1243-XSV, complete with custom interface, 1kW Chirp transducer, Yamaha CL-5 engine display, NMEA 2000 system and VHF radio—everything needed to get up and running right away.
Performance
Powered by twin Yamaha F300 outboards, the DC 286 delivers strong performance. Top speed reaches 55 mph at 6000 rpm, while an efficient cruise sits around 30 mph at 3500 rpm, burning 16.5 gallons per hour for roughly 1.8 mpg. That kind of range and efficiency reinforces its ability to handle offshore runs without hesitation.
In the end, the DC 286 lives up to its billing. It’s a true hybrid platform that blends fishability, comfort and performance into a single, well-executed package. For boaters looking for one vessel that can handle everything from offshore trips to laid-back afternoons at the sandbar, this one makes a compelling case.
