As anglers, outerwear is our last line of defense against the elements we face when fishing the waters of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic coast. Featuring their matte OutDry Extreme fabric, which is waterproof and breathable offering superior comfort for all day casting and catching. The high collar and bonded hood brim work together to keep driving rain and wind out, the drawcord adjustments were thoughtfully configured to allow the user to fine-tune the hood positioning for those toughest days on the boat. The adjustable cuffs can be cinched down for water-tight protection, the reflective detailing adds an important safety aspect to the garment as well. The ODX Jacket looks great and performs under pressure.
The designers at Columbia Sportswear took an athlete’s approach to the bibs, incorporating stretch side panels for an improved fit that’s non-restrictive, regardless of how you adventure requires you to move. The adjustable elastic suspenders hold the bibs in place and work in concert with the partial-elastic waist to ensure perfect positioning on your body, all day long. The PFG Force XII ODX Bibs (MSRP $250) are also constructed using the OutDry Extreme waterproof and breathable fabric that offers unparalleled comfort and breathability. There are abrasion resistant overlays in all the high-wear places, zippered hand and chest pockets offer storage for all your important belongings, and there’s even a designated pocket for your fishing pliers… they thought of everything!
And now we come to the foundation, your feet. Columbia’s PFG Pro Sport Boots (MSRP $100) offer incredible comfort that surpasses any other deck boot on the market. The Omni-Max soles are made from a responsive foam, that literally feels like walking on a cloud, this cushion layer is finished off with Omni-Grip soles that grip without marking and hang on, under all boating conditions. The boots themselves are constructed using a tough-yet-flexible vulcanized rubber material, gusseted with neoprene at the ankles that offers stretch for optimum comfort and easy on and off.
