Every once in a while, something new and innovative hits the market that really blows your hair back. It’s a common problem among those of us who fish soft plastics – which is virtually everyone that fishes – that we are constantly adjusting the weight of the jigs we’re throwing. Sometimes it’s because of current changes as the tide ebbs and flows throughout the everyday cycle. Sometimes it’s to deal with a wind-driven drift. Other times it’s simply a matter of moving to a location with deeper (or shallower) water.

This innovative system utilizes a hook with a threaded collar and five removable heads, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 ounces, that can be threaded on and off the hook so you can change the weight of your jig without having to cut your line or pre-rig (or re-rig) your baits. These Screwy Jigheads also utilize the screw-lock technology that has become a bona fide movement in the fishing industry when it comes to getting your soft plastics to stay put on the jighead when rigged. A screw-lock ‘corkscrew’ is molded into the collar and coiled around the shank of the hook, and all you have to do it twist your soft plastic onto the corkscrew to secure your bait to the head.
