RISAA Show Hits Providence March 8-10 - The Fisherman

RISAA Show Hits Providence March 8-10

The New England Saltwater Fishing Show is back in Providence this year! Now in its 20th year, what once filled a small school gymnasium, now fills the Rhode Island Convention Center from March 8th through the 10th. Hosted by the RI Saltwater Anglers Association, the show now fills over 300 booths and is the largest saltwater fishing show in the Northeast. And what’s even more special, is the show continues to retain a healthy mix of national-level manufacturers and small “mom and pop” style vendors.

Buoyed by another strong showing in 2023, there are lots of new and exciting vendors this year along with longtime favorites. Whether you’re getting in on the current flutter spoon craze, heading offshore for tuna or prefer to catch porgy and fluke… this show has everything you could possibly hope for to cover your fishing needs. Boat manufactures have also filled in the show and, as always, there will be plenty of safety and marine supplies to keep your family and gear safe this season. The non-stop seminars from the likes of Fisherman authors Capt. Jason Colby, Capt. Connor MacLeod, Dustin Stevens, East End Eddie Doherty and many more, are sure to make you a better fisherman by the end of the day.

Additionally, attendees will find nautical themed jewelry and you can up your snack game with some of the best beef jerky, fudge and (the always popular) crab cakes that you’ve ever tasted, these have all long been part of the shows fabric. The kids casting area will be open on Saturday and Sunday, so bring your little ones whether they want to learn or show off their casting skills.

The show hours are as follows, Friday: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cost is $15 at the door with children 11 and under getting in for free. On Sunday is ‘ladies day’ and all women are admitted for free.

Ticketmaster is again offering advanced tickets that can be purchased ahead of time to avoid the lines at the counters during the event. As has been the case for many years now, the first 200 veterans and/or active duty military personnel to arrive on Friday will receive free tickets courtesy of the Providence VA and the RI Saltwater Anglers Association. No one who loves to fish in the Northeast should miss this once a year event that become a can’t-miss show among anglers all over the region. We look forward to seeing you there!
