SALT LIFE SUNGLASSES - The Fisherman

SALT LIFE SUNGLASSES

One of the most popular models in their lineup is the Captiva, which combines form, function and good looks into sunglasses that will perform at max efficiency on those long sunup to sundown 15-hour summer days out on the water. The Captiva performance frames are manufactured in Italy, using high-quality Zeiss lenses for max clarity and UV protection. Captivas are offered in three frame colors with two different lens colors (gloss black clear crystal with copper-green lenses; gloss black clear crystal with smoke blue lenses; matte black with smoke blue lenses; and tortoise with copper-green lenses, which are my favorites), so there’s one that should appeal to your unique identity. The MSRP of these is $169.99 and they are available at a variety of stores that carry the Salt Life brand, or you can visit the Salt Life E-store and purchase them directly.

The top-of-the-line polarized polycarbonate (PPC) injected lenses used in all Salt Life eyewear are created exclusively for them by Zeiss Optics. The special lens tints minimize color distortions, providing reduced glare with natural vision. These Zeiss lens offer brilliant clarity out on the water, while shielding your eyes from the harmful UV rays of the sun, also minimizing eye strain and allowing you to see the natural seascape colors as they truly are in reality.

These lightweight Zeiss PPC lenses are also treated with a permanent protective hydrophobic coating called “Ri-Pel”. This generates a permanent protective repellent seal allowing for clear vision in all weather conditions. Dirt, salt, oil and dust are easily removed and these lenses stay cleaner longer than ordinary sunglasses. An additional side benefit is that the Ri-Pel treatment creates a scratch-resistant finish for max longevity during heavy usage. All Salt Life sunglasses also feature an exclusive AR5 anti-reflective five layer coating. Carl Zeiss was the originator of the AR coating and the benefit of this technology is that it reduces reflected glare from bouncing back into your line of vision, plus it eliminates ghost images. Prescription lenses are also available and Salt Life Optics uses a Zeiss lab with the latest technology, so that the user enjoys the same special tints and coatings that Zeiss has created for Salt Life with their standard lenses. These Rx lenses are available in single vision, progressive and reader formats.
