From June 6 to June 12, the Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club (BHMTC) will host their very first ever Beach Haven Tuna Open Tournament. BHMTC is offering guaranteed payout of $5,000 for heaviest tuna, $3,000 for second heaviest tuna, and $2,000 for third heaviest tuna. Optional calcuttas are also available, and tournament teams that enter their boat before May 9th pay just $500 for entry.
“Though 2021 will be the first year of this new tournament, we are excited to bring you this great new event that builds off the success of other Beach Heaven Marlin and Tuna Club tournaments but has its own format – TUNA,” is how tournament director Andres Hernandez put it.
“Tuna fishing in New Jersey was off the charts last year, and we believe the dates of this inaugural tournament are prime-time tuna fishing, with a tournament format spread out over a full week including weekend days to allow boats to pick their one day of fishing in the ideal weather and schedule window,” Hernandez added.
