If you aren’t watching Dave Anderson’s Video Fishing Forecast on YouTube (Thursdays on The Fisherman Magazine’s YouTube channel), you may want to start! In memory of Dave’s friend Don Robertson, he asked Steve Musso to paint a set of special poppers in Robertson’s signature flame orange customizations. Don was known to be deadly with the Super Strike Popper and was a big believer in the color flame orange. In an effort to honor his friend and fishing mentor, Dave will be giving away a set of these plugs to a lucky angler who shoots Dave’s favorite fishing photo for the summer season, the final day to enter a photo is August 27th, 2025 and the winner will be announced on the following Thursday.
The rules of the contest are very simple; to qualify the photo must show the angler holding his/her fish and the catch must be recent, meaning landed within this fishing season. Outside of that, try to capture a well-composed photo that exemplifies New England fishing. You can email your photos to danderson@thefisherman.com or text them to 203-417-4831. Make sure to include the name of the angler, an area where the fish was caught and any other details that tell the story of the catch. Emails should be sent under the subject line ‘Super Strike Giveaway’ and you can expect to find your photos use in the report and in the magazine as well. So add a little edge to summer fishing season and see if you can shoot the pic that wins this awesome prize!
