This Saturday, April 6, the Shark River Surf Anglers (SRSA) will host their annual Trout Contest for Kids at Spring Lake from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. As always, it is offered free of charge to all children ages 15 and under.
“On the day of the event, we set up tents on the north side of the lake to serve as our headquarters, where SRSA club members are available to answer questions, provide fishing guidance and instruction, and supply bait and tackle to all that may need it,” said Greg Hueth with the Shark River Surf Anglers.
Exciting prizes will be a huge part of the day, as SRSA awards a sensational grand prize to an overall winner, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes to individual winners in each of four different age categories starting at 2 p.m. Each and every contestant will go home a winner, as all participants will leave with at least a “goody bag” prize filled with gifts.
Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m.
