The “Connecticut Fishing & Outdoor Show” is coming to the Mohegan Sun Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24. Dates/Hours: Friday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Discounted admission tickets are on sale now at CTFishingOutdoorShow.com for $12 in advance or $15 at the door, kids under 12 are free.
“Fishing is the highlight of this annual three-day family event that showcases a wide variety of outdoor activities including freshwater and saltwater fishing, hunting, kayaking, paddle boards, safaris, hunting dog training, and more,” explains Kristie Gonsalves, Producer of the show. “This show is designed for longtime fishing and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as anyone who wants to learn more about angling and other kinds of outdoor adventure,” adds Gonsalves. “Our special focus on boys and girls this year features our new Kids Fun Zone with hands-on activities like a live trout fishing pond, archery, live animals, and contests.”
This year’s Connecticut Fishing & Outdoor Show will celebrate a momentous achievement by one of the event’s longtime headliners: Fisherman and Custom Lure Designer Al Gag (Albert Gagliarducci), is one of only six individuals in the world inducted to the prestigious 2024 International Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. In addition, the Hall of Fame has recognized “The Al Gag Super Mac Paddle Tail” as one of the Top 100 Lures of All Time! Gag’s official public Hall of Fame installation ceremony will be held during this show on Saturday, March 23 at 4 p.m. at the Hawg Trough.
Attendees will peruse more than 200 booths that include more than 125 exhibitors selling the latest fishing, hunting and outdoor equipment. Seminars will be running all weekend with many being delivered by Fisherman Magazine authors like “Crazy” Alberto Knie, Capt. John Paduano, Janet Messineo and Capt. Joe Diorio. The new ‘Kid’s Fun Zone’ will be a hoot for your youngsters with the centerpiece being the Black Hawk Sportfishing Fighting Chair where your kid can take on a virtual battle with the fish of a lifetime! Fly fishers can take a casting lesson or watch fly-tying experts ply their craft in real time.
